  1. Chain brake- The hazard which is the greatest as one works with a chainsaw is the saw Kickback. The Kickback is likely to happen if something gets in contact with the upper quadrant (of the tip of the bar) or if one tries to cut with the same quadrant. The bar top would try and climb upwards and the saw would be thrown backwards by the force of the rotating chain. You must always make sure that the tip does not contact anything and never try and cut with the Kickback sector of the bar. It is because of this feature that the chain brake is referred to as a necessary safety feature of the chainsaw. If it is activated then it could stop the chain in a fraction of a second. The chain brake could be triggered either by the motion of the saw during the kickback or if the wrist of the left-hand strikes on the kickback guard.
  2. Chain catcher- If the saw chain is not adequately maintained then it might jump off or break. Designed for protecting the operator, the chain catcher can stop the chain from flying backwards.
  3. Right-hand guard- This is meant for protecting the fingers if the chain jumps off or breaks. This guard has been designed in such a manner that it can protect the fingers.
  4. Throttle lock- The main aim of this lock is to prevent accidental throttle operation. It is necessary to activate the throttle lock as an additional safety feature.
  5. Stop button- This button has been conveniently positioned and aims at stopping the engine quick.

 

These safety features are necessary to use. But any worker is in the position of using it only if they are well informed about it.
